How much beer and wine should there be at a wedding reception with 180 guests?

No liquor, just beer and wine. Figure 150 will drink, about 50 will drink heavily.|||So if you figure 2 drinks apiece for the 100 that will drink, but not drink heavily and how many for the ones that drink heavily? Depends on your definition of drink heavily. For me, 5 - 6 drinks is drinking heavily, or roughly a six pack or a bottle of wine, maybe a tad more. Are you buying a keg for the beer? A keg is about 15 gallons, figuring 16 oz beers, that is 120 beers per keg. For wine you will get about 5 glasses of wine per bottle, by the way, you should get both red and white. Depends on the ratio of beer to wine drinkers too. If mostly beer drinkers, buy two kegs. If mostly wine drinkers, buy one keg and more bottles of wine.

Good luck, and if you are the bride or groom, leave the heavy drinking to your guests, you don't want to waste your wedding night with booze! You can drink anytime, but you only get married once.|||"No liquor, just beer and wine", I understand what you mean, but it almost sounds like an oxymoron to me. I recommend you bring NONE!!! It will be so much more fun without it. I would actually reccommend that you buy a ton of vintage sodas. They are so much fun to drink because they are unique and tasty. Bevmo actually sells a ton of vintage sodas, also there is a great store dedicated to vintage sodas called Galcos, you can also order off their website. Here is its website:

personally i would go with a bottle of wine per person or at least a 6 pack of beer

but hey, i would wanna get waisted if its not my money, and I had to spend money on a wedding gift!|||I believe the rule of thumb is to have 5 drinks per guest. Some won't drink leasving more for people who like to enjoy themselves. The people who don't drink, i wouldn't trust them anyways. they are covering something up.|||You do not want people getting hammered at a wedding reception. I would figure about 3 drinks per person. Some people will not drink and those heavy drinkers need to get drunk some where besides your reception.|||Well them if those 50 drink heavily dont let them! Just get enough for everyone to have a cup or pint.|||If you budget for 6 gallons per head that should be easily enough.|||6 x 180 = drinks you will need
