How and why is American beer superior to English beer/ale?

My strong position which is accepted by all with beer knowledge.

We have a few misinformed boys here that think American beer is bad. All American beer is good and some English beer is good. Scots and Irish have several better brews than other parts of UK.|||You may be onto something here. Both have their faulty brewers. In tradition no, in technological + science applications yes. But the Americans do have Anheuser-Busch (Now AB-Inbev, Euro owned) which has a very technical approach to brewing. Through their Michelob line they have shown their ability to brew more heavily flavored beer (I understand that they are formulating an All Malt version a several of their beers.) which has been the trend the world over since the 1970's. The thing with comparing the countries' beers is that they are different. Not many brewers in the USA brew a true English Pale Ale, for example. Thus we have created the CA Pale Ale style. The same applies to most beer styles. What you may ask or claim without doubt, is the American brewers, across the board are more creative and brave. In the American spirit they have paved the path to new and bold sub-styles of beer, love em or not.

**You know what, IMO I think one of the last answers (name withheld, 'B') has said it best. It is not an European Imperialist's rant on how great the beer is there but rather, fair and balanced. I am truly surprised.

The fact is you go into many of the older British breweries mold and bacteria run rampant. Many think this to be "quaint" but it is a serious issue for the beer. And a poor reflection on the people. I go with American and stick to my recent above comment about the (unnamed).|||How the hell can you say that ALL American beer is better than English beer when you have brewers like AB, Coors etc over there.

They produce tasteless rubbish that has to be almost frozen to kill the tastebuds when it is drunk.

There are good American beers, the same as there are bad English beers, but on the whole the percentage of good beer drunk in the UK far outweighs that drunk in the US.|||the majority of Macro brewed beer in America sucks. talking about Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc

there are great American beers made, but most people ignore them. comparing the macro beers in america to english macro beers, i would go with english... compairing American microbrews to engish, i would likely stick with american.|||I think it really depends on the specific beer at question instead of overall English or American, Ive had some great English beers and some that I thought to be terrible, same with American beers, and not all American beer is watered down piss like the macrobrews like Bud, Miller and Coors, there are several thousand different breweries in the states, the US has more brands and produces more beer than any other country in the world, theres way too many to choose from to say all American beers are better or worse than the English's|||No people with beer knowledge and can taste real quality know that domestic beer isn't very good. It tastes ok, but when you try really good beer, it is much much better. But you keep drinking your Bud lite lime.|||Again, I'll fall for it. LOL

No country has better beer than another. Every country has good beers and bad beers. Including America.|||The best beer is a free beer American or English
