Can you substitute pepsi for beer in a recipe for onion ring batter?

I have a recipe for onion rings and it calls for 1 cup beer, but can be substituted with carbonated water. My question is do you think I can substitute with pepsi?|||All the no-s are mistaken. I have done this and it is good. It is also good with ginger ale or 7 Up or plain old club soda.|||It just doesn't sound good, you know what I mean?|||Yuk-no!

The sugar and color would be a big problem.|||I wouldn't try it, it just wouldn't taste good. I would omit the beer and increase the water.|||You can do that, but, did you know that cooking with beer disolves the beer, there is no alcohol after cooking with it. But Pepsi sounds like a really good idea.|||no I wouldn't|||Heck yea, I think it would give it a nice Carmel color and flavor. I have a southern cook book and they do all kinds of things with cola, fried chicken and vegges and cakes and cookies. Go for it !!

What is the name of the pitchers of beer they serve in brazil?

While on a trip to Brazil, I ordered a pitcher and they brought out a tall, circular tube filled with beer. On the bottom was a tap and you poured your own beer through them.

I am wondering what they are called and where I could purchase one. Any help is appreciated.|||Are you talking about this: http://images.quebarato.com.br/photos/bi鈥?/a> ?

If so, it's called "chopeira" (draft beer container, in English) or "torre de chopp" (tower of draft beer, in English). In Bondfaro, a website which searches prices of a product around all Internet, I found several stores in Brazil which sells it. There are several formats there, you just have to click on some and choose the best for you. Here's the website:

I found some few on Amazon.com too, mainly chromed: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?u鈥?/a>

What is the difference in Lager Beer and Pilsner Beer?

What is the difference between Lager beer and Pilsner beer? Also what is the difference between ale and beer??|||The differences begin during the brewing process. Whether the beer is an ale or lager is defined by the type of yeast used in the brew and the temperature at which fermentation takes place. Ales are brewed with top-fermenting yeast which allows for rapid fermentation at warmer temperatures. Lagers are brewed with bottom-fermenting yeast which ferments more slowly and at colder temperatures. it is all just dependent on how it is brewed, each brewing process produces a different, unique beer. All are good!|||A Pilsner is a lager. Ales are beer, just not a lager. Ales and Lagers are brewed differently.

Here are some examples...

Lager: Pilsner, Bock, Black Lager, etc.

Ale: Stout, Porter, IPA, Wheat beers, etc

EDIT: Stay away from Wikipedia! Why do people put stock in what it says? People can put anything in there.

Go to allaboutbeer.com.|||Oh man - you need to get out and get your self a "sampler" from your local micro-brew pub. I was not only educated on this subject by my bar tender, I also got to sample each type of beer.

You can read all you want here, but if you experience it, you'll remember it.

Lagers, Ale's, IPA, wheat, stout, etc. The brew pub is your wikipedia of beer answers.|||Pilsner is a German style of lager. And in British terms ale and beer are the same thing. The diference between lager and ale is lager is fermented at a colder temperature and is aged before serving.|||Pilsener is a type of lager and ale is a type of beer. How to make your own beer labels?

Can anyone tell me how to make my own beer labels? More specifically what type of labels, size and where to purchase them.|||I make my beer labels with an inkjet printer on Epson high DPI paper. I attach them with a glue stick. Much better and cheaper than what you can buy. The combination doesn't run when it gets wet and the label slides right off after briefly soaking in warm water.

You can get the paper at places like Office Depot, Staples, etc.|||You can use either a graphics program or a word processing program to prepare the labels. Print them on bond paper or on prepared label stock. I glue the labels to the bottles with milk. The labels can be peeled off after you wet them thoroughly. If you want to buy label stock, go to a large stationary or computer store.|||There are beer making stores online, like http://www.homebrewit.com that specifically sell labels that you can customize to put on your own homemade beer. It's already pre-designed and sized for beer bottles and some come with nice graphics already on them. You can see specific labels here: http://www.homebrewit.com/aisle/1180. They're at a good price too depending on which kind you want.

Otherwise, if you're looking for something a little fancier, there are label creating programs you can buy to customize your label even more.

Is it safe to drink beer that has been in a house during termite tenting?

My house was fumigated a couple months ago and I left a case of beer in my closet. Is it safe to drink it?|||yes. But it may now give you cravings for wood.

Good luck|||Now the can is still unopened right???

Then its safe to drink it ... but please clear the can first! wipe it clean if possible wash it!

Enjoy your beer|||Anything, even beer, as long as it has been sealed will will fine, altho I do suggest you wipe the bottles down with a wet soapy cloth first, to avoid any of the residue from getting on your hands and therefore transferring to your face or mouth. You might want to check the freshness date on that beer tho....old beer doesn't taste as good.|||Wash the cans /bottles thoroughly|||Beer is Beer, is good, anytime providing it hasn't been opened

How long does it take for room temperature beer to get ice cold?

I'm throwing a party. I have a ton of beer in bottles and cans that I need to be cold for the party. However, I don't want to ice them too early and have all the ice melt off. How much time do I need to allow for the beers to get cold after being iced in coolers?|||i'd say at least 2 hours, and I'd put some in freezer or fridge just to have a batch of cold beer before hand...|||Your question depends on how large the containers are (its thermal mass), what they are made from (thermal transfer abilities), how hot they are when you put them in (starting temperature) and if there is enough ice to compensate. That being said putting them on ice will not make them ice cold. It will make them about 35F. It takes about 5-10 minutes for 12 ounce cans depending on how warm they were to begin, how many you put in at a time, and if you can get it totally surrounded by ice. Cans cool quicker then bottles as glass is an insulator and aluminum is very good and thermal transfer.

Keep it in a fridge until it is time to transfer it to coolers. Oh, and once you buy a new fridge take your old one and put it in the garage. It is what we know as a beer fridge.|||If you put the beer in the cooler with ice on it, it only takes 8 minutes for the beer to get cold and good enough to drink.!! bottoms up!|||Refrigerator - 45 minutes

Freezer - 20 minutes

Ice water - 5 minutes

Ice water w/ salt - 2 minutes|||The best way is to fridge the beer now if possible or at least keep them in the shade, and put them in the cooler with ice on top 30 minutes before the first one will be drunk.|||pour liquid nitrogen over them, and they'll be icey cold in an instant.

What can I replace Guiness Beer for in a Beef Brisket Recipie?

I am using a recipie that calls for 40 ounces of Guiness Beer and I want to replace it with something else. I can't figure out what. Any suggestions?|||Almost anything

wine

juice- apple, pineapple,

a different brand of beer

beef broth

I wouldn't reccomend water though unless that is the absolute only liquid you have.|||3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 cup strong black coffee

1 (12 fluid ounce) can cola carbonated beverage|||I think beef broth would be good|||If you can't get Guiness use any stout. If you can't get stout use any dark beer.

What is the best beer to use for onion rings?

I usually use Coors Light (it's what my dad drinks), but it kind of taste a little funny. I've been told that it may be because it's a light beer. What brand of beer would work the best? I ask because I don't drink, so I obviously don't have any preference for beer. I'd like to know what works the best.|||I try to not use anything too expensive that I would rather be drinking. Rolling Rock makes light and tasty onion rings.|||When I made it I used a de-alcoholized one as your do not need the alcohol, so any one like O'Douls or the Michelob one with 67 calories, it does not fade like real beer and has less carbonation, here in Canada I use Labatt's 5 or Molson Excel we sell that in the grocery stores, we do not have real beer there it is sold in a specialty store.|||Melissa, I use a dark lager, It's a little darker than Budweiser, but not black beer like Guinness.

I have used Budweiser and Molson X, it's okay, but not as good and robust as the darker beer.|||Nothing too hoppy. I find that any ordinary lager works very well.|||Dark beer has more taste than light for cooking.|||room temp bud light!

How much in tips do beer vendors (hawkers) make at a football game?

I just got a job as a beer vendor/hawker for the patriots. What is the average amount that they make in tips a night??|||probally up to like $100

Why exactly does cheap beer make you fart more than more expensive beer?

When I drink Natural Light, I fart A LOT. When I drink Keystone Light, I fart somewhat. When I drink Amstel Light, I hardly fart at all. This has held true for Coors, Bud, Pabst, Heineken, etc.

Is there an ingredient in beer that makes you fart that the lower the price, the higher the quantity of that ingredient in the beer?

Not kidding, the question is crass and silly, but it's true and I really want to know! It would be nice to save money without being an embarrassment!|||Carbonation. Cheap beers tend to be over carbonated because much like serving it ice cold it masks the flavor.|||Try drinking unfiltered German wheat beers. You'll pass so much gas that you'll annoy deaf people upwind from you.

Is it illegal to brew beer if you're underage?

Im 19 and I have brewed beer with people of drinking age, but Im thinking about buying my own equipment. Is that illegal?|||It is illegal, yes.

They don't card you to buy equipment or ingredients, though, and I can't think of any reason why you would ever get caught.|||who cares lad! just buy the equipment and let the good times roll! any other country in the world ud be legally drinking!|||Each state has different laws. I would call your states office to see what are the laws in your state. For instance in the state of Louisiana it is legal for an 18 year old to sell alcohol but obviously not consume it.|||As long as you don't make a big deal of it, I'm sure no one will really care. Anyone can buy the equipment. Who's to say it's not a gift for your mom or dad? Heck, if someone asks you about it, just tell them you're buying it for your mom or dad.

Good luck and have fun with your home brew.|||I'd guess it probably is, but as long as you don't make a big deal about it, you'll be fine.|||It really depends on your state, but for most of them no it is not illegal.|||NO, IT IS NOT. It is illegal to consume it, however.

How do I know if beer or soda is spoiled?

I left beer and soda in a cooler for two weeks. The ice obviously melted and now I am wondering if I should simply trash them. Thanks.|||If they are still sealed there is no reason to worry.

More people, until the late 19th/early 20th centuries, drank more beer/wine than water.

the reason for this is water is boiled to make beer, also yeast converts the grain sugars to alcohol which helps to preserve the drink. This made beer safer to drink and would allow you to keep it longer.

Soda is also boiled/pasturized when made. It is then sealed. This makes it very difficult for bacteria et all. to get in.

The Beer will last longer than the soda but both should be good to consume. Just rinse off the bottles/cans in case the water from, the ice and cooler was dirty|||it won't really spoil but it can lose some of its fizz|||Beer or soda do not need to be refrigerated if they are not opened. Just put them in the fridge. If its bad, they will be flat and have lost their bubbles.|||The at the the expire date on the containers......|||heck no, give them to me, If you left them out for a long peired of time mabey. look at the experation date.eeewww|||That happened to us after a neighborhood party %26amp; someone tasted the beer two weeks later that was left in the cooler, that did originally contain ice. They said the beer was right on the edge, so we pitched it, but my Pepsi was okay %26amp; I refrigerated it right away. I tossed the opened two liter of pop out, just to be on the safe side.|||Both should be okay. The beer may show some effects of being cooled then heated then cooled, especially if it's been close to six months since it was bottled (the typical shelf life of unrefrigerated beer). I've never experienced a problem with beer going through a warm/cold/warm/cold cycle.|||soda will be fine, but the beer might be kinda skunky if it got warm after being cold, still might taste fine though. they won't spoil until the expiration date, which is probably 2011 or something-carbonated beverages last forever.

How can i make myself like beer?

I cant drink more than one sip of beer at a time? I have tried many different kinds of beer and all of them make me feel like im gonna puke because its so nasty. But i really wanna be able to drink beer because im tired of liquor. How can i "train" myself to like beer?|||practice, just drink alittle everyday till your downing 6packs like there nothing|||I don't think it's possible but I could be wrong. Some people naturally like some things and hate others (and vice versa). If you don't like something already (what you mentioned that they all make you want to throw up) and you force yourself to drink it, it's going to have a negative effect and you'll end up hating it even worse.

I've wanted to like beer but I can't stand it no matter what brand it is. But I like other drinks instead (both alcoholic and non) so I'm perfectly fine that way.|||beer is one of those things you either love or hate. Try it with lemonade (sprite if your American) Say 3/4 beer to 1/4 lemonade. It's called a shandy and its not a bad way to drink beer if you want to train yourself. It makes it a bit sweeter and easier to drink, adjust it to your liking.|||Mix it with something else.

I am not a beer drinker try wine that's my drink.

I have actually mix wine and beer it was pretty good. I have try beer and vodka. Try slow gin it is red and has a small cherry taste to it. Cornea with a slow gin.

I know I was a alcoholic. Hey I use to stay in the club.|||Don't do it. You'll not develop the taste, if you don't care for it.

Try a gin rickey - cool and refreshing, and not girlie-sweet.

Gin, lime-juice, sparkling water.|||Why would you want to "MAKE" yourself like or do anything? If you don't like beer and want to get away from the hard stuff, try wine. You may have to acquire a taste for this too, but it's not as yukky to do (at least, that was true for me.) I like the light and slightly sweet variety, like white Zinfandel. Be careful with wine though because if it's too sweet and/or cheap it can reallllly make you sick (like Boone's Farm).

Drinking wine's also classier than beer OR cocktails. But if you can't come to the point where you like either one, and drinking is a major form of entertainment, order virgin drinks, like Virgin Mary's. You'll still be in with the crowd as well as drinking something that's better for you.|||Why drink something you don't like??

I prefer liquors, too.

Favorite = absinthe.|||I think its a bad idea.. i mean beer makes you fat! Plus thats gunna make you have a really bad habbit. I dont like beer or liquour, and im proud of that. You should consider your health before anything.|||okay, i don't understand. I'm not trying to be mean or sarcastic, but i don't see a good reason here for your goal.

i don't see much difference in drinking to be cool and drinking to have something to do

i don't understand why anyone would eat, drink or do anything they don't like just so they can "learn" to like it. if you don't like something, find something you do like -- and that you like on its own merits, not just to pass the time!

if you just want to get drunk, stick with Everclear and just grin and bear the taste.

if you want something you like the taste, keep trying different beverages, not just beer and not just alcoholic beverages. if all you like the taste of is Coke, then drink Coke for crying out loud. beer is something you either like or don't, like with anything else in life. if you love blue, you don't try to make yourself like red, that's just foolish.

if you want a hobby, find something you don't have to MAKE yourself like.

if you want to live somewhere with more to do, save the money you'd spend on booze to move somewhere else with more things to do besides things you do just to be doing anything.|||why do you want to? WHY DO NOT HAVE TO DRINK JUST BECAUSE YOUR FRIENDS DO!!!!!! I AM 60 YEARS OLD NEVER DID LIKE AND NEVER DID DRINK|||Why do you need to like beer? you dont need to drink beer to be cool. I know everyone seems to drink beer as a socal drink but ive found i get more respect when i say" thanks but i dont drink beer" dont be afraid to drink what you like in socal settings. dont worry about it. real friends wont care what your drinking.

just keep it under control|||I would suggest trying a few micro brews. There is a huge taste difference between like Bud, Coors, and Miller, to Blue Moon, Killians, Newcastle, Pete's Wicked.

First beer I would reccommend is a Blue Moon with about 2 OZ of Orange Juice.

Next try Petes Wicked Strawberry.

Also there are quite a few Cider Beers, Very Sweet, like Hornsby's.

Those are a few of my favorites.

Corona with Lots of Lime is awesome too.|||Oh my gosh girl! If you don't like it, don't drink it!!!

I don't blame you for not liking beer, it is nasty. There's no way you can "train" yourself to like it. And why on earth do you want to? Why don't you try wine or something instead. Or better yet you could try laying off the alcohol.|||you cant make your sefl like it

you like it or you don't like it|||Try Sparks or another malt liquor. It's not beer, but it's not hard liquor either. I personally only like Sparks, but many others have a sweet taste with very little malty aftertaste. If you don't like beer then don't drink it!|||mmmmmmmmmm

think of all the studs you'll get.

god it tastes so good too.|||Practice, practice practice..

Or..

Try Wine...|||don't start with beer. drink beer only when you are a little bit drunk. start with light beer.

How do you avoid getting a hangover after drinking draft beer?

Does anyone have an amazing beer and cheese soup recipe?

I live in a small town, and we have several small business owners. They have the best beer cheese soup, and I have yet to find anything anywhere near is good. Help me?|||Beer Cheese Soup

1 cup butter or margarine

1 cup finely chopped celery

1 cup finely chopped carrots

1 cup finely chopped onion

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

8 cups vegetable or chicken broth

1 (12-ounce) can beer (preferably flat)

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

3 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese

Chopped fresh parsley

In a large soup pot over medium heat, melt butter or margarine. Add celery, carrots, and onion; saute until tender but not brown. Remove vegetables with a slotted spoon, reserving butter in soup pot. Place vegetables into a food processor blender; whirl until smooth; set aside.

In the soup pot over medium heat, make a roux with reserved butter or margarine, flour, and prepared mustard. Gradually add chicken broth, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture just comes to a gentle boil and is thickened.

Reduce heat to low. Add beer and stir to combine. Mix in pureed vegetables and cheddar cheese; simmer another 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted. Remove from heat. Serve in soup bowls topped with parmesan cheese and parsley.

Makes 8 servings.|||This looks like a great recipe! Two of my boyfriend's favourite things are beer and cheese :)

|||The key is using a really good beer.

here is mine:

In the bottom of 8qt stock pot, saute until tender over med heat:

1 T each: olive oil and butter

1/4 cup each diced into 1/4 inch pieces - onion, carrots, celery.

Salt and pepper to taste.

Once these are tender, add 2 T flour. Stir over low heat for a couple of minutes. Add 2 cups milk (I use skim - or use vegetable or chicken stock). Turn heat back up to med. Stir until thickened. Add 2 cups shredded cheddar (I like sharp) and stir until it is melted. At this point, if you want a smooth soup - use the immersion blender. Add 1 cup of chicken (vegetable) stock and 2 bottles of a good lager (light or dark is up to you). Simmer on low for about 20 - 30 minutes, checking on it occasionally. If it gets too thick, add vegetable or chicken stock to thin it.|||HEARTY BEER CHEESE SOUP

Are there any alternatives to lactose when making beer?

Someone I know wants to make beer but he can't get hold of lactose powder to make the beer. Now he's wondering if there are any other sugars he can use that can do the same thing.|||Yup.

Fructose

Works a treat|||Grain, malt, hops and yeast + distilled water = ingredients for making beer--at home or professionally. Lactose powder is not necessary.

Since beer is mostly water, do not use anything but distilled water.

Adding molasses instead of sugar can make a deeper, warmer flavored beer.|||Both Dextrose and Glucose are the best in terms of high production with low after taste - Fructose as suggested above does have an after taste but one that supports / harmonises the taste of the beer.

Sucrose (table sugar) produces a high level of sediment and often has a peculiar after taste in finished product.

Sugar additives can be avoided by ensuring that enzymes such as maltase /amylase are given time to act upon the grain to breakdown the complex starches into simple sugars.|||Yes using Malt extract of the type of grain that you are using will help greatily without giving any of the side effects to the Beer.

First question is this a from grain or from malt extract brewing project. If it is from Malt extract than there is no need for the Sugars unless all you want is to max the alcohol content and you will get a very cidery flavor from most sugars

Beer is from Malted grains (Barley, Wheat being most common)

Hops (a flower that adds bitter and is a natural preservative)

Yeast (the type breaks the beer family down into to two types: Ales and Lagers)

Water

Agents added to beers can range from different items used to clarify or flavor a beer. But the above is the basic that has been around for a good long time.|||Lactose and Gluten free beers exist, most common one is Red Bridge, but there are some others... he can use commercial sorghum... but I think it may be even harder to find.

B:

The Lactose or Gluten come from the malted hops.|||Why use lactose, beer should be made from malt.

How many bottles of wine and kegs of beer for a wedding reception?

We are fortunate enough to be able to bring alcohol to our wedding. We have 100 people coming, with at least half that can drink like they belong in a fraternity. We would like to keep within our budget so we are going to have beer and wine only. How many bottles of wine and kegs (or cases) of beer should we get?|||Make it so everyone can have just a drink or two.... Please dont be liable for drunk driving and a death of a friend or someone else.

You might consider saying a small speech like..."We would like everyone to join us in celebrating our special day, please have a drink with us."

Then have "servers" pass out EITHER a glass of wine or a glass of beer. You could have 3 or 4 of each kind of drink on a tray and have them served.....

The purpose of the drink is to celebrate the wedding. A symbolic gesture of good will... not a free for all party.

Congratulations on your wedding!|||Well usually the rule of thumb is 3 drinks per guest. So do the math...about 6-7 glasses of wine in a bottle and 24 bottles of beer in a case (no kegs to at least class it up since it's a wedding). But if you think your friends and family are gonna get f...ed up worse than the newly weds, then just increase to please the masses. P.S. approximately 27 shots in a liter of liquor just in case.|||Talk to a liquor store about your situation. You can buy more than you need and take it back if unused. Most (not all) liquor stores will do this.

I would think a few half kegs of beer and 2 cases each of white, red and rose. Again, make sure you can take back what is not used.|||sammie, you are lame. she already said all guests will staying in the same hotel and no one will be driving. It's a celebration, not a business dinner! Geez I say go have some fun, it's your wedding!!!|||The more the merrier.

What hours can you buy beer at gas stations in new mexico?

Looking at what hours you can purchase beer in Albuquerque. And also is liquor sold in grocery stores? Or is it just in liquor stores?|||You can buy all alcohol before 12am.

Liquor is sold in grocery stores and in liquor stores.

On Sunday you can buy alcohol after 11am.

Has anyone ever used a beer can in a Turkey?

I have heard that you can place an open/punctured beer can inside a turkey along with vegs, when roasting. This is supposed to make the turkey very moist and tender. Anyone ever hear of it?|||Here's the chicken recipe. It should work with turkey too: http://www.united-nations-of-beer.com/be鈥?/a>|||i think that it wuold just give you someof the juices from thee trukey so you can make a nice gavy. If you mean putting bea in the trukey then yes it doesgive it more flavor. but i likewine better|||Not in turkey but in a chicken and it was great!|||Tried it in a chicken and the taste was great. Can also use soda instead of beer and remember to empty out some.

A friend of mine cooks his turkey with ginger ale inside and swears by it saying it just falls apart. What he does is make sure you rinse out the bird, shake some salt %26amp; pepper inside then he splashes the ginger ale around as best as possible inside. Next he puts in a hot oven for about an hour (400 to 450) and then he turns it down to about 150 I believe, then he lets it cook alnight. He usually does all the above and then goes to bed. I guess everyone just raves about it. I haven't tried it yet.|||I hadn't heard of that. I have heard of using sliced lemon or an orange. Have to admit, when I saw the question, I thought you meant an UNopened can, I can imagine the impact when it gets hot! (hehehehe)|||yes,i have done that w/a chicken..mmmmmm very juicy.you daont have too use beer you can use water in a soda can, too|||yeah, my dad did it one year and it turned out really well.|||yeah i heard it was good|||stuffing it with cut up lemons %26amp; oranges will make it moist %26amp; give it a citrus taste.|||I saw Mathew McConaughey do this on a talk show one time. He just popped the top on the beer and inserted it inside the turkey cavity. The turkey was sitting up-right though, and then when cooking the heat would make the beer bubble up and infuse the turkey meat- which apparently makes for a moist turkey.|||I havent used the beer can whole, but I have put beer in the stuffing, and used the rest for turkey basting and consumption.

A littel for the turkey... a little for me...;)

How important is ambient temperature when home brewing beer?

I want to start making beer but I don't want to keep it my kitchen. I would prefer to make it in the garage, but can't control the temperature there as well. How might that effect my beer making?|||If you are going to make a lager, it will effect the primary fermantion alot... I would make an Ale first... Stick with a simple british ale, nothing complicated.

As for the temprature, in the primary fermation, I have found that the warmer the room is the faster the fermantion will take place. The reciepe may state that it will take a week to get to the right specific gravity (it will change with each type of Ale you make), however in warmer rooms, that may but cut down to 4 days, or in cold rooms extend to 10 days.

How the beer tastes will change as well, however there are so many other issues that could screw up the taste more then temprature, I would not worry about it.

My suggestion would be to make the wort and do the primary permation in your kitchen (or bathroom) for the first week or so, in a room that 1) is more or less 70 F and 2) has a flooring that can handle a spill.

Once you bottle the beer (and it has to sit for another 4-8 weeks) that can be done in the garage.

One last suggestion: CLEAN EVERYTHING. pots, spoons, hoses.. take the extra time to clean and the beer will come out ok.

-luck|||There are two types of yeast, lager and ale. An ale is a top fermenting yeast, and lager is a bottom fermenting yeast. Lager is a German word that means "store". A lager is stored at a low temp, typically in the low 40s to low 50s F. An ale can be fermented at room temp. Both yeasts suffer from wide ranges of temperature extremes.

Your best bet would be to get a cheap used fridge and put it in the garage. Set it for a temp of around 45 F, and make lager.|||I ferment at about 60 degrees and age at 40. I realize this is considered too high a temp for lager, but I'm tired of long drawn out and stuck fermentation's.

What domestic beer would you recommend for someone who likes mostly dark lagers and stouts?

I prefer my beer dark. Killian's, Newcastle and Guinness are my faves, and I don't usually like anything lighter than red in color. But since my picks aren't always available everywhere I go, what American domestic (and preferably cheaper) beer would you recommend trying that has the same taste?

What is the best way to start a beer bottle collection?

I am looking to start a beer bottle collection, I was just wondering on the best way to go about starting. It doesn't need to be a valuable collection (although that wouldn't hurt), just something as a hobby. Should I just start with the different beers that I drink, find some online, or actually do research?|||Buy a bottle, drink it, buy another brand, drink it, and so on............so forth..............|||For openers you could find a liquor, wine, and beer superstore, and if you drink, buy all the individual bottles you can of every brand the store sells. For right now beer being bottled in its current container won't have much value as far as the bottle goes. But since nearly every company changes the appearance of their packaging every so many years, the bottle will start to have some value. Another thing is that a LOT of microbreweries fizzled out over the last several years and have gone out of business. More microbreweries are certain to follow. I would definitley collect those bottles. You might also collect information about the histiory of these companies as well.

Flea markets, antique malls, and antique shows will very often have such memorabilia and are good sources for serious collectors. Be prepared to pay several dollars for beer bottles from a bygone era.

-Food: Serve food!!! A person drinking on an empty stomach gets drunk quicker. Serve some food be it hamburgers and hot dogs or chips and dip.

-Transportation: Will you collect everyone's keys at the door or have designated drivers in the event one or more of your guests get too intoxicated to drive. Do you have enough room and bedding where you are having the party to let intoxicated people crash there?

As a host or hostess you have to consider these things. If someone gets hurt or killed in a vehicle accident and it turns out they were drunk YOU could be held liable. Not to mention, it's a pretty crappy feeling to see a classmate lying on a slab or not being able to drive or have much of a life (paying off the costs of a DUI) knowing you could have prevented it. What does it take to start home beer brewing?

Several years ago my roommate bought me a "Mr. Beer" home brewing kit. What I didn't really like about it is that it seemed "dumbed down" - for example, all the yeast, sugar and stuff was pre-measured and it all came in pre-packaged flavors. I want to experiment a bit with different ingredients. What will it take to make a beer from scratch? I'm looking for input on things like equipment, tips, and difficulty level. Another thing I would like to know is if I'm getting in over my head. Thanks in advance.|||OK, some background here...I've been home brewing for several years, I've metaled in several contests and I brew at least i batch a month year round.

The first thing you need is a good kit. I recommend this one because it comes with a carboy for clarification and sanitizer*-

You may wish to get a book a book, How To Brew by John Palmer is the homebrewer's bible. Beauty of it is the old edition is available only for free from John himself here -

Get the book online or at your local book store if you become serious about brewing. I also recommend Randy Mosher's Rasdical Brewing ( http://www.radicalbrewing.com/ ) and Ray Daniels' Designing Great Beer ( http://www.amazon.com/Designing-Great-Be鈥?/a> ) if you become serious about it.

In the absence of a book you can watch Alton brew a beer and take good notes. This is how I started and I don't regret it. The ice trick really works until you invest in a wort chiller. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA7jQ6Wwn鈥?/a>

Next you'll need a recipe, I recommend going partial mash your first time out. All extract tends to be bland and lifeless, all-grain is to expensive and complicated for a beginner. Make sure you know if your recipe kit comes with priming sugar for bottling and if it doesn't you'll need some. If your local homebrew shop doesn't have ready made kits you can get them from Midwest Supplies also -

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/homebrewi鈥?/a>

Let's see...you'll need a large stock pot to boil your wort in. Wort is beer before it is beer. If you don't have one already, don't spend a lot right now. Go to Dollar General and get a 3 gallon pot for under $20. You'll need this for boiling you wort.

You'll need bottles. This I highly recommend picking up locally. Shipping cost and possibility for damage are both high. If you and your friends are up to it you can save and wash and sanitize* them. You'll need two cases and a six extra. Chances are you won't need all six extra, but you want them just in case.

Advice for a beginner -

Start simple. Don't go big your first time out. I did this and I wasted money and time. I brewed a stout that was undrinkable.

If your tap water is drinkable without chemical treatment it is good enough for brewing...no mater what Alton says. Just fill your bottling bucket and let it sit overnight so the chlorine can evaporate out.

Be patient. Brewing takes time, but it is rewarding.

Do a web search for home brew clubs in your area. Here in Chicago I'm a member of CBS (Chicago Beer Society). What beer is best to use in a chili recipe?

I'm competing in a chili cook off, and I already am going to have to work the hardest because I'm submitting vegetarian chili (using the fake meat crumbles). How much is a beer on in the bars in Philippines?

I would like to know what is the price of a beer in Boracay Philippines. And is 17000 Pesos a lot of money in Philippines? What can you actually get for 1000 pesos?|||The average Philippine household's income is estimated at $2,148 per year - which works out to US $ 6.62, or around 305 pesos per day.

17,000 Pesos is what such an 'average family' will earn in 56 days !

At current exchange rates, 17,000 Pesos is equal to US $ 369.36. In a country where half the population is living on less than $2 a day, this can possibly feed at least 185 hungry Filipinos !

What happens when BEER undergoes malolactic fermentation?

I know the basic idea of malic acid being converted to lactic acid in white wines to make them softer or 'buttery'. Has anyone done this with beer? Is there enough malic acid in beer for this to take place? Would I need to add malic acid and the bacteria?

Wines continue to change while they are in their bottle. Would this type of fermentation do the same to beer?|||Beer contains negligible amounts of malic acid, as there should not be any tanins present in the fermenter.

There are a lot of problems with this, though. MLF is usually induced by introducing lactobacillus into the must. In wine, this is fine. In beer, this will spoil it. At best, you're going to have a Belgian style beer. At worst, you'll have malt vinegar.

How do you acquire a taste for beer?

I dont drink beer, but everywhere i go i have to not drink at all because i cannot stand the taste of beer. What is the easiest way?|||I think beer is like coffee - you either like it or you don't. It tends to be bitter, and it will definitely bloat you. But for experimentation purposes, you may want to go to a microbrewery and try some of the fruity beers, or even chocolate and vanilla. Tell the bartender you want to try "sweeter" beers and they'll know just what you're looking for.

If you don't have access to a microbrewery, John Adams makes some sweet beers, I know in the summer they do a raspberry one, and Blue Moon makes a light beer that is served with a lemon or orange slice. That one is nice and refreshing.

Some bars, especially microbreweries, will do a "sampler" tray where they have special small glasses that come on a tray, with samples of beer. Just clear your palate with water or bread or something in between glasses.

Beer must be served as cold as possible. If you're getting a draft, try to get it in a frosted glass.

Beer pairs up really well with certain foods. For example, pizza, wings, burgers.... I wouldn't want to drink it with something like chicken soup or a tuna sandwich. If you pair it with the wrong food, both the food and the beer, will taste awful to you.

The malts, like Smirnoff's Twisters, are a good alternative. They are light, fruity and refreshing, with a low alcohol content. They come in many flavors.

I'm not a huge beer person but when it's served, like at BBQs or watching a game at someone's house, I do best with Coors Light, really ice cold, and I enjoy the raspberry and blueberry beers, plus Blue Moon.

Happy hunting!|||honestly, beer is an acquired taste. if you don't force the first 10 or so down, you'll never like it!|||well I wouldnt force myself to drink beer, but if you must then start with a very light beer, or maybe a chocolate or fruit flavored micro-brew.|||start with a hard cider, like woodchuck or woodpecker, they taste like a cross between apple cider and beer.|||Don't bother. I would maybe start with a pale ale or light lager from New Belgium, Goose Island, Amstel or something like that - but the best advice ever is to experment, try different types. There is a ton of it out there!

Good luck to ya !|||start with good beer. don't try and start with piss water like miller lite or bud light. go get you a well poured pint of guinness. its a little bitter at first but think of it as a lovely glass of chocolate milk. its cool and refreshing and according to the posters is actually good for you too.... if the first one doesn't work try three more. i promise by the sixth guinness you'll wonder this magical drink has been all your life. bottoms up!!|||well honey there is no easy way. you just have to suck it up and drink and after a while you will start to like it. and honestly after the first or second one in a single sitting it's not so bad|||you have to find one that you like. i prefer budweiser select. great taste and doesnt have that awful after-taste|||I used to hate the taste of beer too, but i always drank it anyways (to get drunk socially). I found some brands of both lager and beer that i like such as Corona (only with lime), Harp, and Samuel Adams. Try different types.

What is the best beer with hotdogs and hamburgers?

I'm not much or a beer drinker anymore and there are so many to choose from. What would you pick for hotdogs and hamburgers and maybe corn of the cob?|||I match beers like I match wines. So, if I were having such an "All-American" barbeque that involves dogs and burgers, I would get a cheap American local brew - Bud Light or Coors, or any of the stuff made here. How did you learn to appreciate subtle flavors in beer?

I'm a fan of good dark beers. I like the thick, malty flavor. But other than that, it's hard for me to differentiate the subtleties. How long did it take you to learn to really tell differences between similar beers? Mainly I can only tell when a dark beer is really chocolatey, or coffee-like. Otherwise it's tough for me to differentiate any flavors.|||Good question. The best way to do it is to try a variety of different lagers, ales, stouts, etc and contrast and compare. My local brewery, Saranac, offers variety packs where you can try various beers. The key about "appreciating" the subtle favors is to not become a "beer snob." Everyone knows the wine snob cliche, and nobody likes a beer snob lol.

But seriously, besides the chocolate nature of dark beers, you also want to look for head, hoppiness, aroma, and finish (amongst other things). Being a fan of dark beers, you might like the strong flavor of hops in a pale ale. It's crisp, has a bit of a bite, but finishes smooth. But keeping these things in mind will definitely help you appreciate subtle flavors, or at least keep them in mind when trying new beers.

Hope this helps, and cheers!|||Trial and error, also by refusing to drink watered-down swill like Bud + anything Light.

Is beer the only alcoholic drink that gives you a beer gut?

Or is there more to it such as the food that you may eat while drinking beer? Some people crave fattening food after drinking a six pack or two.

Is there other alcoholic drinks that does not give you a pot belly?|||A beer gut isn't the result of drinking a lot of beer. It comes from eating and drinking without excercising. THose who drinki a six pack a day generally don't excercise much.

It's a coincidence.|||I rather thing beer is about the only one that does and can give the Pot Bellys. How ever it's the amount one drinks that gives the Belly.

Also one tends to feel extremely hungary because of it as well.

It's one of the most easiest of alcoholic drinks.|||Absolutely not|||I'm afraid that the "beer gut" you are referring to does not only occur in people that drink large quantities of beer. It will occur in anyone that consumes more calories than their body needs. There are tons of people who don't drink at all that have a "beer gut" just from eating too many calories or drinking to many sodas.

However, those individuals who drink lots of beer are most likely going to have a beer gut, because beer contains a plethora of calories.

Anyone have a recipe for gluten free beer bread?

I just picked up some gluten free beer at the supermarket made by AB. God bless them! Very good stuff. Now I want to try making beer bread with it. Since I've been diagnosed with celiac, I can't use regulour wheat flour. Can anyone help?|||Found this recipe and tried it today. It works!

Gluten Free Beer Bread

Combine in a large bowl:

3 cups gluten free flour*

3 tablespoons sugar

3陆 teaspoons baking powder

1陆 teaspoons xanthan gum

1 teaspoon salt

Add to large bowl and stir well:

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 gluten free beer (12 oz.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour batter into a greased or parchment lined loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes. Yield: one robust loaf

*A combination of gluten-free flours usually gives the best result. Pick up a ready to use flour blend like Bob's Red Mill or use your favorite all-purpose mix. Keep it basic with a rice flour blend (2 cups brown rice flour, 3/4 cup potato starch, 1/4 cup tapioca starch) or spice it up with some mesquite meal. Great with gluten free oat flour, too.|||Here's the recipe:

3 cups flour (I used 2 cups of Bob's Red Mill Homemade Wonderful gluten-free Bread Mix and 1 cup of white rice flour)

3 teas. baking powder (omit if using self rising flour)

1 teas. salt (omit if using self rising flour)

1/4 cup sugar

1 12 oz can beer (I used lemon lime soda instead)

1/2 cup melted butter (I used clarified butter)

1. Preheat oven to 375

2. Mix dry ingredients and soda

3. Pour into greased loaf pan.

4. Pour melted butter over top.

5. Bake about 55 minutes, remove from pan and let cool at least 15 minutes.

Do not add yeast to this. No kneading required.

If anyone has a better substitiute for the rice flour let me know. I think maybe 3 cups of the Homemade Wonderful bread mix might make a better loaf. I bought it because it already has the Xanthan Gum in it (didn't want to pay $11. for a bag of that! )

If you want to make this with regular flour and beer, there's a recipe on allrecipes.com that is really good (look for the recipe with 5 stars).|||Beer Batter Bread Gluten-Free

Recipe

1 cup oat flour

1 cup millet flour

1 cup sorgham flour

1 Tb granulated sugar

1 tsp salt

1 Tb baking powder

14 ounces GF beer or 12 oz beer %26amp; 2 oz water

1 1/4 kuzu powder dissolved in the 2 oz of water

Optional Egg Glaze: 1 beaten egg %26amp; 2 tsp water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 4 x 8 loaf pan with parchment paper. Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the dissolved kuzu and water to the beer. Then pour both liquids into the dry ingredients. Stir only enough to blend and lumps are okay. The batter will be thick. Pour into parchment lined pan and bake for approximately 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.

This bread is better to eat within the first couple of days. After the third day the after taste becomes stronger until it is almost as strong as the aged Emmenthaler cheese.

Should Obama have a beer conference to stop the bickering and bring the country together?

He's been compared to Lincoln, who was president of ALL the people and brought us together.

The cities of L.A., San Francisco, and even the state of Calif are planning to boycott for ideological reasons, the state of Arizona. Should Obama have a beer conference to minimize the differences, or will he play the partisan politician, take advantage of a crisis, and push for even more division?|||obama is the worst thing to happen in America, cant wait for 2012 or even before|||No and...ummm...Lincoln kept the country together through reluctant use of force. Bad comparison.|||Wouldn't his resignation from office be easier?|||Actually he should do what Lincoln did, let them fight it out.|||Boycott only hurts the innocent wage-earner and also the deceived myrmidons that carry out instruction of the evils that hate America! I will hazard a guess that Obama will stall on giving his take on it until he determines the momentum it gains or loses!|||I prefer he keep his mouth shut. Every time he talks he stirs up trouble, or it costs me money.|||Obama WANTS to divide us. Look at how things are out of control. He is instigating it.|||Why not? What is the average price for a beer in a pub in America and what size is the beer?

As I'm in Melbourne, Australia. Can you specify if your prices are in US dollars?

At pubs in Melbourne the beer is roughly $US2.70 for a 275ml glass.|||Man, those people answering this question above have no idea what a real beer is. $2 US dollars for piss water in a small town, but if you are headed to a major city (New York, Chicago, LA) and want a decent beer, its around $5-$7 a pint.|||IN THE PUB BEER COST $1.00 FOR A MUG ON TAP IN HAPPY HOUR. ABOUT $I.50 TO $2.00 A MUG AFTER HAPPY HOUR|||for a 20 oz mug it is roughly $3 unless you go during happy hour then they can be as low as a dollar a mug cheers i live near washington dc|||At my yacht club we charge $1.50 for a 12 oz can of Bud, $1.75 for a 12 oz bottle of Bud, $3.00 for 12oz Heineken,

or other non domestic beers. We are in Brooklyn, New York.|||well around here it is anywhere from $2-$4 depending on where you go for a 12 oz. bottle.|||2 bucks a bottle depending on the bar. Yes we call them bars not pubs...not trying to sound mean but if i ever go to melbourne i will call them pubs.|||A pint at a restaurant will cost about $2. Bottle about $2.50 unless imported about $3.50. Prices per bottle at a cluib is about $3 and at a strip club is like $7.|||I m not sure what it is since i don't live in america and even if I did I wouldn't go to pubs and drink beer, man.

How many pints of beer should a pitcher pour?

Assuming standard sized American bar pitcher, how many ounces or pints of beer does it hold? 5 pints to a pitcher? A pint is larger than a 12 oz can/bottle right?

Sometimes it pays to do the math when comparing prices at a bar.|||The standard bar pitcher is 64 ounces, which would give you 4 pints of beer, but this is not always the standard. Some bars have gone with a 60 oz, down to a 48 oz pitcher, yet it still looks like a full standard pitcher. Ask the bartender what size pitchers they use to determine which would be the better deal.|||4 or 5|||These are the capacities of barware (filled to the ''brim'').

Standard beer glass - 10 ounces

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

Standard mug - 10 ounces

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

A standard ''shot'' is 1 1/2 ounces, this one holds 1/2 that (7/8 of an ounce).

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

You complain, so the barmaid fills one of these babies. You still get cheated (1 ounce).

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

''Hourglass Pint''. Not quite, only holds 15 ounces at the brim (a pint is 16 ounces).

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

''Large Mug'', it's all glass. Holds 12 ounces.

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

And the pitcher, some places sell it as a half gallon, not a chance. All of these hold 60 ounces. That's 5 12 ounce beers, 1 short of a six pack.

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>

http://www.acemart.com/merchant.mv?Scree鈥?/a>|||I think about 4 pints.|||4-5 depending on your pour. Remember, contrary to what most people believe a little head on your beer is a good thing. It prevent the oxygen from getting at it and changing the taste.|||A pint is 16 ounces. But you don't usually get a full pint in a bar. With the head, you'll get about 14.5 ounces.

My experience is that a pitcher holds about 4 3/4 12 ounce glasses, which would be about 3,6 pints.

How long will beer last in a can?

I have a small collection of unopened 'collector' beer that intend to keep for a very long time. How long will it last inside the can before the can will begin to detoriate and leek beer? Obviously were talking about a standard tin can here filled with beer.|||Depends on the alcohol level. Most beers above 8% mellow and improve with age. (the flavors blend) 3.25-6% are meant to be drank fresh.

Personally I would not drink a can of " standard 5% " beer that was older then 2 years and generally 1 year is the max. It will not leak for at least 20 years and likely 75.|||Most mass-produced beer is intended to be consumed fresh. There is usually a freshness date somewhere on the can. After the freshness date, the beer's flavor will start to deteriorate within a few months. It will not be dangerous to drink, but it will taste like wet cardboard. Yuck.|||Leek? I hope the beer lasts longer than your brain cells. LEAK is the word. A leek is a vegetable belonging to the onion family.|||Drink it now! However, there is a date on it! Other than that, 6 months if it's kept in a cool place .....but I've drunk a can after 6 years ....it was 'orrid!|||I never drink beer in cans. The beer is all right but the air fare to Cannes is too expensive.|||Call the 800 number and ask there reseach depts. If you decide to pour it out it makes good lawn food. *mamatx

What happens to a beer when the expiration date passes?

I know it has a different taste but I want to know what actually becomes wrong with the beer.|||the dates on beer is NOT an expiriation date

there are 2 dates common on alcoholic beverages:

born on dates, which is the date they are bottled

and "freshness dates" which is the date they put on for distribution and sales reasons

its a way for manufacturers to move product off retail shelves, and make sure retailers get rid of the older stuff 1st.

technically speaking most beer brewers belive the optimum age of a beer is to consume within 6 months of bottling... after that the taste might not be quite a fresh, but still is consumable. there are beers people find that are hundreds of years old and drinkable.|||Nothing really, it just gets old over time. You can drink beer that's past the expiration date, which is why some just do "born on" dates.....it doesn't really matter.|||nothing as long as you haven't opened it. it might begin to lose it's carbonation.|||probably the alcohol goes rotten|||skunkorama

How long does beer stay fresh non-refrigerated?

I'm in a monthly beer club that delivers a case of various microbrews to me each month. I recently received this month's shipment but am moving in 2 weeks and not planning on finishing the beers before that time. I know better than to chill the beers and then let them rewarm, but would also rather not have to transfer them in a cooler in order to keep them cold during the move. So can they be stored at room temperature until after the move without losing any freshness? Thanks!|||Long time 6 months at least but keep it from getting hot in the summer|||It depends on the beer. Most domestics have a shelf life of 3-6 months depending on what you get. Most Imports are longer, some up to a year or so. If you must store the beer, it would be better to store it in a cool dark place... and I would think they would be fine. Just to be on the safe side, you might want to check the life expectancy of the beer with the microbrewery.

BTW, Good luck on the move!|||Sealed they should be fine for a few months at room (not any warmer) temp. Keep them in a darker area, away from a window.

How Long can beer stay in a glass bottle?

I bought a home brewing beer kit. All it comes with is the plastic amber bottles. I know it can not stay in there long because of the plastic. I bought clear gallon jugs for my beer instead because the amber glass jugs are expensive for me. How long can I keep my beer in the clear jugs and if not for long can I use something to cover the jugs to protect against light damage? Like tin foil or something?|||If it is a high gravity beer with an alcohol concentration above 7.5% ABV it will last for years. I have had lighter beers than this good after a year. Just keep the beer from light and in a cool environment and it will be fine.

.

The beer is fine if you avoid light. Foil will work but is awkward. Try a dark cabinet or basement free of direct light. But you can use a towel or tarp if you want as long as it blocks the light.

.|||Yes, you should be able to use any sort of light-blocking material (aluminum foil, cardboard box, unused DVD cases, whatever) to keep the beer from light damage. Understand that if you are storing beer in your home fridge light may not be too much of an issue, as the light is usually only on when you open the door, as opposed to retail units where lights are on most of the time.

As for how long you can store beer: I'm not sure. Store-bought bottles often say the beer is best within 120 days of being brewed/bottled, so I wouldn't keep it any longer than that. It doesn't say that it can't be consumed after 120 days, just that it tastes best within that time. Of course, this beer is also pasteurized so it can be transported and stored unrefrigerated, so this may increase its overall shelf life.|||Use anything to block the light, it doesn't make any difference.

Length of time? Depends on what you've made; some German or Belgian beers are aged,

'lagered' quite a while before bottling. Many common American beer recipes for just a week or two.

Generally, higher alc beers and ales and those made with higher concentrations of hops and malts have a natural preservative effect and should be cold stored longer.

Cheers!

.|||Get some cheap black spray paint, and paint the bottle. After the paint dries you will have to handle the bottle carefully because the paint will not stick to the glass well.

What is the healthiest beer on the market?

In terms of reaction to the body and its benifits it can have.

I always thought Nastro Azzuro was, but is this beer just like the others, better or worse for the body?|||I don't think any beer is healthy for the body. Try wine.|||I suppose you want beers and not a fools answer of wine.

If in terms of alcohol nay light or even non-alcohol beer is health.

In terms of nourishment then any hefe weizen (a wheat beer) because it contains brewers yeast which has a decent level of B vitamins and minerals.

Beers are not know as healthy as the polyphenols in wines but they have now been given scientific praise for containing the same healthful benefits (to lesser extend).

If you want heath you need to be a moderate drinker then perhaps no more than 3 per day.

What beer would a person who normally drinks vodka/cranberry like?

I normally drink vodka and cranberry. However, not only does it get expensive in a hurry, but it is a bit high maintenance! I've tried beers like Blue Moon and Heineken, but really can't get into it. Is there a beer that would make the transition from vodka/cranberry easier?|||well liquor and beer are quite different...

modello's yummy though|||If you like the taste of drinks like cranberry and vodka and not the traditional beer taste it's gonna be tough to find a beer you like until you develope a taste for it. Start with a wheat beer like Blue Moon and dont forget the orange. Blue Moon has more of a fruity flavor then regular beer. If that doesnt work, try going to the malts like Mikes Hard Lemonade, they make many different flavors and they taste nothing like beer.|||It's sort of like saying, "What car would a person who normally flies in a 747 jet like?"

It's trying to compare apples and oranges so I may be way off the mark but try a raspberry lambic. Lindemans makes one that I have had and it's pretty good. It's not really like beer because I think there is no hops (or very little). It's almost more like a wine, but it's not made with grapes so it's not really wine.

Sam Adams makes a cherry wheat. I'm sure others to as well. There are probably some beers with cranberry in them as well. Keep trying different beers. Leinenkuegels makes a berry weiss that is very fruity.|||The fact that you like vodka/cran makes me think that you don't like bitter things all that much, like lots of flavor, and wouldn't like something heavy. I fall in that category, too, and my favorite beer is Brooklyn Brewing Company's "Pennant Ale '55". Light, not bitter, lots of good flavor, and very easy to drink.|||Try a fruit Lambic. The Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic is a very poor example of the style. Try a lambic from Lindeman's.

If you don't care for Blue Moon, perhaps try a better example of the style (Belgian Witbier). Try Allagash White, Unibroue Blanch de Chambly, Ommegang Witte or Southampton Double White. These beers are so good on their own they won't even need any fruit.|||My only thought is a lambic of some sort.

Beer is an acquired taste, and while Blue Moon is not bad, it's still a Coors product so you shouldn't expect it to be great. Heineken is completly overrated. According to ratebeer.com, 90% of all beers are better than Heineken (I'll let you have one guess where Bud and Coors is...).|||Samuel Adams Cranberry Lambic|||Most likely a fruit lambic such as Lindemans or a fruit flavored wheat beer like Pyramid's apricot hefewiezen|||Bud light or Cors light I drink a couple of beers b 4 I drink vodka n cranverry|||Try Blue Moon.
